Set up a workspace

A workspace is your team in Kata. Everything you build — bots, skills, plugins, tools — belongs to the workspace, not to you, so it keeps working when people come and go.

You already have one: Kata creates a workspace for you the first time you sign in. Make more for other teams, a family project, or anything you want kept apart.

Create a workspace

1. Open the workspace menu at the top of the sidebar.
2. Choose Create new workspace and give it a name.
3. Switch between workspaces from the same menu. The workspace is part of the URL, so two tabs can be in two different workspaces.

Invite members

1. Open the workspace menu and choose Invite members.
2. Enter an email address and pick a role.
3. Kata emails an invitation link. It is valid for 14 days; inviting the same address again sends a fresh link.

You need the owner or admin role to invite. Pending invitations for you appear in the same menu, under Invitations.

Roles

Role	Can
owner	Everything, including deleting the workspace and inviting other owners
admin	Rename the workspace and manage members
member	Use and build bots, skills, plugins and tools

Note

A role controls who can change the workspace itself. It does not let anyone read another member’s conversations — those stay private to whoever started them.
